Google's New AI-Generated Image Label & Meta Data Required

Google also is now asking you to self-label your AI-generated images as AI generated with a IPTC photo meta data attribute. This way Google can label images as being AI-generated in the image search results.

Goodbye FID, Hello INP - Interaction to Next Paint Coming To Google Core Web Vitals

As expected, although it took a lot longer than we thought, Google announced it will be replacing the FID metric with the INP metric for its Core Web Vitals. This won't happen until March 2024, but it will happen.

Microsoft: Bing Chat Growing Faster Than Servers Can Handle

Microsoft Bing Chat is growing so fast that the team can't add enough GPUs fast enough to keep up with the growth. This leads to some Bing Chat experiences being slow and a bit laggy. But Microsoft is aware and hopes to be able to improve here.

Microsoft Bing is testing a new section named "Learn more on." This section seems to give you search refinements and expanders to find more information related to your original query. Bing is also adding a box named "Microsoft Edge Deal Days" to some search results.

Google: hreflang x-default Can Help Feed URLs To Google It Might Not Otherwise See

Google Discover Won't Show Content Filtered By SafeSearch, Says Google

Google Discover generally should not show content or images that Google's SafeSearch filter would block. Danny Sullivan, Google's Search Liaison, said this on Twitter a few weeks ago but this was implied by previous statements from other Googlers over the years.
