Google Helpful Content Update Finished On 9/9 But Were Those Fluctuations Related To HCU

The Google helpful content update finished rolling out around 2 pm ET on September 9th. That morning we reported we started to notice more widespread volatility and fluctuations, possibly related to the helpful content update. But now I am thinking that maybe those or most of those fluctuations were unrelated to the helpful content update?

Google Updated Review-Type Results That Can Impact Search Console Reports

Google has posted that it began upgrading some review-type results to product-type results in Search, and has been able to generate some new product type results. This started on August 22, 2022 and as a result, your Search Console performance and rich results report may be impacted.

New Google Featured Snippet With Multiple Answers, New Design, Callouts & More?

I am wondering if the screenshots below are the new featured snippet callouts Google spoke about almost a month ago. You can see bolded callouts, multiple answers for a featured snippet block, and a newish design that looks a bit like the knowledge panel design test we saw earlier.

You Don't Want Google To Rank Your Site In Specific Regions

Google's Gary Illyes was on Reddit offering advice to one SEO who simply does not want traffic from Google from users in specific regions. The reason is, that they don't ship to all locations and they don't want a ton of abandoned carts. So if they can avoid getting traffic from the places they do not ship to, that can help reduce those issues.

Google Ads To Disapprove Ads That Don't Meet Better Ads Standards

Google Ads sent out emails on Friday to advertisers of a change coming to its policies starting in October 2022. The change says that if your destinations contain ad experiences that do not conform to the Better Ads Standards then the ad will be disapproved.
