Google FAQ Rich Results Now Only Displayed For Authoritative Sites
A month ago, Google told us that FAQ rich results in the Google search results will be shown for only authoritative sites but we waited over a month and nothing changed. That was until yesterday when FAQs in the Google search results are now barely showing up in the search results anymore.

Google Maps/Local Tests Third Party Reviews Again
Google Maps and Google Local are testing showing third-party reviews for Google Business Profile listings. It has been over a decade since Google Maps showed third-party reviews, reviews not left directly by a searcher on Google but placed on a third-party website.

Google: Very Few Robots.txt Files Are Over 500KB
Gary Illyes shared a nice little tidbit on LinkedIn about robots.txt files. He said that only a tiny number of robots.txt files are over 500 kilobytes. I mean, most robots.txt files have a few lines of text, so this makes sense but still, it is a nice tidbit of knowledge.

Google: Use Hreflang When Sitelinks Go To Wrong Country Version
Google's John Mueller said if you see that your sitelinks in Google Search are going to the wrong country version URL on your site, then try using hreflang. John said on X, "This is kinda what hreflang is for (and even that isn't a guarantee that languages/regions won't mix)."

Google To Force Some Suspended Advertisers To Get Verification Before Lifting Suspension
Google in October will start to require some advertisers who have their accounts suspended to complete the advertiser verification in order to have the account re-issued. Google said this does not apply to advertisers who do monthly invoicing.

Google announced that Google Search Console will now show Google Merchant Center visibility issues and changes in new reports. There are two new reports, the first report shows when products stop appearing on the Shopping tab due to any issues and the second shows changes clicks and improve ranking of products on Google Search.

Google August 2023 Core Update Volatility Yesterday - The Final Wave?
We are expecting Google to announce that the Google August 2023 core update has been completed any minute now. But yesterday, I believe we saw another wave of volatility, maybe the final wave of fluctuations before Google calls this update as being done.
